City Land Use and Circulation Element Update (LUCE)
Draft EIR
The public comment period for the Draft EIR ran from Friday, June 13, 2014, to Monday, July 28, 2014, and has now closed. Comments received after July 28, 2014 will be forwarded to decision makers for consideration during the public hearing process but will not be officially responded to as part of the Final Programmatic EIR.  The public is encouraged to attend future hearings and provide their comments on the content of the LUCE update documents. The hearing schedule and information on the LUCE update and EIR (including links to the draft documents) can be found on the project website at:

Measure Y Information
On July 1, a majority of the City Council called for the submittal of a ballot measure for the November 2014 General Election to extend the San Luis Obispo Essential Services Measure, a 1/2-percent local sales tax, for another eight years. Download a packet on how to submit ballot arguments.  Updated information will be posted as it becomes available.
2014-15 Events Promotion Sponsorship Application is now available. The PCC and TBID's annual Events Promotion sponsorship funding application period for the promotion of destination events in the City of San Luis Obispo is now available for the 2014-15 year. Application deadline: 8/14/14 at 5:00 p.m. Informational meeting 7/9/14 at 4:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber.
SoCal Gas Co Pressure Testing
SoCalGas is conducting hydrostatic pressure testing on a portion of their natural gas pipelines during the months of June August 2014 in the northern area of the City. To view the flyer with further details, click here.

Operation Clean Sweep

Find out what day your neighborhood is swept, and pile those cars in the driveway that day so the sweeper can do its job. Go to the Street Sweeper Schedule Map link: SLO City Sweep Day to find out the sweep day for your street. Once you find out your day, put a note on the refrigerator, in your car, or on your phone to help you remember! Please get those cars off the street. Much appreciated!

2014 Benchmark Study

San Luis Obispo ranked favorably in a fiscal comparison with eight similar California cities. Benchmarks included revenues, expenses, public safety, road conditions and other service outcomes. Find out more about how the City measured up in the 2014 Benchmark Study.

General Plan Housing Element Update
The update process is a tool to modify housing policies and programs to reflect the changing needs, resources, and conditions in the community.

A community workshop will be held on July 16, 2014, at 6:00 pm in the City/County library community room (995 Palm Street).

Cal Poly Housing RECIRCULATED DRAFT EIR is Available for Review
Cal Poly is proposing to construct approximately 1,475 beds of first-year housing and a 300-500 space parking structure on campus at Slack & Grand. The updated EIR is available HERE.   City Staff liaison for the project is Tyler Corey 805-781-7169.
